Tv show meme snagged from [livejournal.com profile] lifeistoobrevis

Name a TV show series in which you have seen every episode at least twice:
Farscape, Babylon 5, Veronica Mars, Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Name a (current) show you can't miss:
Fringe, Community, Parks and Recreation

Name an actor that would make you more inclined to watch a show:
There'sa bunch that would make me at least check out a show. But if the show's bad I won't keep watching it for anyone (even for Katee Sackhoff!)

Name an actor who would make you less likely to watch a show:
There's a lot of these as well, but not one that sticks out in particular.

Name a show you can, and do, quote from:
Farscape, Buffy, Doctor Who

Name a show you like that no one else enjoys:
Well everyone enjoys some show, but Pretty Little Liars is one I wouldn't have thought I'd enjoy and I don't really know anyone else who likes it online.

Name a TV show which you've been known to sing the theme song:
Farscape (even though it's not singing), Veronica Mars, Firefly

Name a show you would recommend everyone to watch:
Too many..... Babylon 5, Farscape, Battlestar Galactica, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Parks and Recreation, Miranda, Fringe, Community, Spaced, Sherlock, Veronica Mars. Basically every show I like.

Name TV series you own on DVD:
Farscape, Babylon 5

Name an actor who launched his/her entertainment career in another medium, but has surprised you with his/her acting choices in television:
Ummmm. Joel McHale, maybe? I'd never seen him in anything else besides The Soup, but I'm surprised at how good his acting is on Community.

What is your favourite episode of your favourite series?:
I have no answer to this question. I can't pick out one of anything!

A show you mean to watch, but you just haven't gotten around to yet:
The Wire

Ever quit watching a show because it was so bad?:
Heroes. (It got so very bad.) House. I also quit watching Lost, but not so much that it was bad, I just lost interest in it. There are other shows I still watch, but I'm not sure why because they're not very good.

Name a show you aren't interested in watching, not in the least:
Supernatural, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Glee

Name a show that's made you cry multiple times:
Babylon 5, Farscape, Buffy, Doctor Who, Queer as Folk

What’s your current unpopular TV opinion?:
I don't like Lincoln Lee on Fringe. I honestly don't get why he's so popular.

Oldest TV show you like?:
The Pretender

Newest TV show you like?:
Sherlock

What do you eat when you watch TV?:
Dinner usually

How often do you watch TV?:
Usually watch something every day, but it's often old stuff on netflix.

Do you have a favorite talk show?:
Not really. I do enjoy clips of Ellen and Conan O'Brien on youtube sometimes though.

What's the last TV show you watched?:
Dexter

What's your favourite/preferred genre of TV?:
sci fi

What's your least favourite genre of TV?:
reality tv

What was the first TV show you were obsessed with?:
The Pretender

What will turn you off the fastest from a TV show?:
boring plots/characters, sexism/racism/gross prejudices

What TV show do you wish you never watched?:
I'd honestly probably be okay without having watched Merlin

What's the weirdest show you enjoyed?:
Really a lot of the shows I like are weird in some way. I'm tempted to say Farscape might be the weirdest, but I'm not sure.

What TV show scared you the most?:
When I was a kid I was terrified of Unsolved Mysteries. There's no shows that scare me now (although I haven't seen Unsolved Mysteries for like 15 years, so who knows, it might still scare me!)

What is the funniest TV show you have ever watched?:
Miranda, Parks and Recreation, Community, Spaced, Party Down, The Office (early seasons)

Which do you think is the best TV series ever made?:
No answer for this one either. There's a number of shows I think are really great, but not one I can pick as the best!

UNSOLVED MYSTERIES

HOLY HELL THAT SHOW SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME

Oh, this is fun! I may snurch it. Agreed on Unsolved Mysteries, that was really freaky. It didn't scare me as much as those Time-Life books on the paranormal, but it came close.

I've heard a lot of good things about Pretty Little Liars but it looks kind of like Gossip Girl and I can't stand that show.

I obsessively filled out this meme as soon as I finished reading yours. (But somehow failed to say so.)

Farscape is the weirdest show you've ever seen? Really?

I put Twin Peaks. Or possibly shows like Eerie, Indiana, Wonderfalls or Pushing Daisies.

I wonder what it says about me that I don't think aliens are weird. But then, weird is relative. (Resists temptation to make joke about weird relatives.)

For example, Wonderfalls featured a young woman working at a Niagara Falls gift shop when some of the souvenirs start talking to her and pestering her to do odd tasks that end up helping people. Any show that has a talking cow-shaped creamer fits my definition of weird.

I do recommend all of the above shows, if you want to give them a try. Twin Peaks is a weird crime drama, Wonderfalls and Pushing Daisies are both quirky dramedies, and Eerie, Indiana is like The X-Files for sixth graders. And I'm pretty sure they're all out on DVD and so can be rented/Netflixed.
