nothin but the rain
Well I've gotten to the point where I'm so totally bored I've just decided to try and write something in here. I'm very very bored. I tried some situps but they are hard and I did as many as I could do. I would cook something but I'm not hungry. I don't want to wash any more dishes. I don't have any books I want to read (I need to get to the library).
I've been thinking about trying to write more. I say that all the time but I never do. Why? Because writing is hard and a pain in the ass and I hate it! But I'm going to try yet again.
Point of fact, I'm going to try right now.
What am I going to write about? Well the only thing I have expert knowledge of...sci fi tv shows! Yes, sad but true. I'm not going to feel bad and loser-ish for being a giant geek. I don't really have a problem with it. So if you do have a problem with it, and don't want to hear about tv shows, then go away!
Okay, now I've been thinking what I should write about. Should I write my ideas for the upcoming final season of BSG? Should I write about Torchwood? Should I write about Angel, as I just started watching season one?
This is going to probably end up being a mixture of my ideas and thoughts as well as really just what I want to happen. I keep reading peoples theories about all kinds of stuff regarding BSG, but I really never come up with any solid theories on my own. For example, I have read people arguing that pretty much every single main character might be the final cylon. I have read supposed quotes from the writers/producers saying certain people were definitely not a cylon, but I don't know if that is true or not. I do not think Starbuck is a cylon. Well, really, I just don't want Starbuck to be a cylon, so therefore I don't think she is one! Travis only knows the basics of the show, and from his standpoint she is obviously a cylon because, well...she died and came back, duh. And that makes sense in a way. But they keep going on about how special she is and she's got some special destiny. I don't really see being a cylon as fulfilling that destiny. However it could. It also feels like a cop out to make her the last cylon. Almost like, it's so obvious that is almost ridiculous for it to happen. If that makes sense? I also don't think that Baltar is the last cylon. This idea has been teased and brought up so much at the end of season three, with Head Six pretty much telling him he's not a cylon, that it also seems a ridiculous idea.
Now I'd like to think the last cylon is a woman, simply to keep the numbers even sex-wise. It makes sense if you are going to manufacture cylon humanoids, you'd want an even number of men and women. So I'll consider some of the remaining women on the show (and there's really not that many...as most of them are cylons!) Roslin? I'm going to just jump right out and say no on that one. Mainly because she has cancer. And she was dying of it. And magic cylon halfbreed baby blood helped cure it. If you were a cylon, even a "different kind of cylon" I don't see how you could get cancer. Cylons should not be vulnerable to the same diseases humans are, especially a disease that is not contagious. Also, because she is the president and it would be totally lame for her to be a cylon :) Okay, who else is there? Dualla. This is a popular theory. I don't really like it much either to be honest. I sort of like Dualla even though she might not make the best choices. I think shes an important part of the human race and they've already gotten rid of other awesome humans (Tigh, Tyrol) that it would suck to have Dualla be one too. And she's not in a really good position to be a cylon. The recently revealed ones, are sort of in prime positions (yeah, Anders is only an ex athlete, but if you consider his position as Starbuck's husband, that might be more of an important position). I don't think Cally is a cylon, primarily because Tyrol is a cylon (and the whole baby thing). Hmm....what other women are on the show that are still alive? Racetrack? Eh. I could buy that. She isn't that important, but she is a pilot and has been involved in a lot of important stuff. But I don't think it would be that big of a deal if she was a cylon. I can't think of any other women who are alive that I haven't mentioned. There are a few women who are dead though that are still possibilities. Particularly Ellen, Cain and Shaw. I do not think Ellen could be a cylon, for many reasons, most of which have to deal with pretty much everything that happened on New Caprica during the occupation. I do NOT want Cain to be a cylon. Don't get me wrong. I love her. I've said this before. I mean, she's really unbalanced and quite scary, and I don't think shes a good person or anything. But I love watching the character, shes intriguing. The actress is amazing and gorgeous. It seems like making Cain a cylon would be really to much considering the Gina/Cain thing. It would make her lose a lot of her significance I think as well. That leaves Kendra Shaw. Personally I don't have a problem with this. I liked Kendra, she was totally frakked over by Cain. And she seems to perhaps have been in the good position of being important, but not so important as to seem ridiculous that she is a cylon. Also when she sees the creepy old guy hybrid before she dies, he knows her. He seems to know all about her life, and asks if she wants forgiveness. Granted if he knew she was a cylon, he could have just said so. So I'm not really sure. Oh, I totally forgot about Kat. I love Kat, but I do not think she is a cylon either.
And of course there is the possibility of it being a man. I'm not going to go through all the men like I did the women. But I think the only possible men left to be cylons--in my opinion-- are Gaeta, Zarek, Hot Dog (but of course!) and Billy (RIP). Billy being the only dead one there. Billy--there reasons that this could make sense. He was the president's aide. He gets killed, and who does he get replaced by? Tori--THE CYLON!!!! Although that fact is also a reason where that sort of doesn't make sense as well. And as we don't know the nature of the final five, its impossible to speculate as to their life and death. So all dead people are sort of up for grabs so far in my opinion.
Hmm, I don't really feel like I have come to any particular conclusion. Not that I was really trying to. Part of me isn't all that super into trying to guess who the last cylon is (although that might not be apparent from this post!) But I just feel like there's almost NO WAY we can discern who it is. I say that because of the final four revealed last season. There was no way before the last few episodes to guess who they were (probably because they didn't decide who they were until then).
So I guess this was interesting. It's sort of interesting for me, as I don't really know what my thoughts on these sort of things till I actually write them out or talk to someone about them. So this is good for me I guess. I mean, its just tv stuff. But as I've said before, tv stuff is what I know about now, so writing about it is easier than writing about anything else right now.
Hopefully I'll do this again soon. I will probably write about the new episode of BSG when it comes out (April 4th!) And I'll also write about Torchwood when the last episode of the season airs in a week or two.

nice
That's a good point about the last cylon prob being a woman. It only makes sense keeping the number even. As for who it is??! Your theories are good. I'm so confused..that really I have no solid guess. I would like to think that the last cylon is a)a woman and b) important. The thing that bothers me is that the last cylon is going to have to be someone completely fantastic and shocking to keep the momentum of the show right? I mean they've already completely blown our minds by making the chief, tigh, and anders (tori not so much shocking) as four of the final five. Now they are going to have to REALLY up the ante so to speak for that last cylon. It really could be anyone. And is it possible that it's an entirely new character?
I agree with you about Starbuck. I really don't think she's a cylon. Clearly, she has something to do with cylons-that is her destiny is inexplicably (as of yet)linked with them. They can't make her an actual cylon tho. They've said from the start she wasn't. Also it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. And we wouldn't be all that shocked. For the final cylon to be that important it's going to have to be a complete suprise like kendra(i like that idea) or billy ( perhaps) or they are going to have to make it like Adama or Roslin or something. Adama would be intriguing. Altho Lee being half cylon doesn't make a whole lot of sense because he sucks much mroe then real cylons do. And you are totally right about roslin as well. She doesn't make sense either. So where does that leave us? Waiting breathlessly for April 4 I suppose!
How do you like angel?
Re: nice
Anyway...49 HOURS as of my writing this until new BSG.
