i can has tv watching
I don't know what inspired me to write this, but here it is. It's just some very brief thoughts on Pretty Little Liars, Doctor Who, Elementary and Breaking Bad.
Pretty Little Liars. Talk about a cliffhanger! I've already read so many people arguing for different ways Toby could be an A, but it's all just totally speculative since the show gives away nothing other than him in a hoodie and working with Mona. Anyway, it's exciting, but I hope they don't make him totally evil. I'd prefer some more complicated type of result.
Also I'm sort of glad Nate(Lyndon) was Maya's stalker, because it was so heavily foreshadowed that it would have just been super annoying if he actually just ended up being her cousin. And killing isn't fun, but good for Emily for totally defending herself awesomely against him.
Doctor Who. Thank goodness I'm a total pessimist when it comes to this show anymore. In case you didn't know, I dislike everything Steven Moffat has done since he has become showrunner. This season premiere was pretty terrible, in like every way, and didn't make me interested in anything that's going to happen the rest of the season. But Yes, I will be watching it. Why will I be watching a show I seem to hate? Lots of reasons....for one I watch a lot of shows I think are sort of crappy anymore (True Blood, Dexter), and also because I've devoted so much time and emotional energy into Doctor Who I feel compelled to follow through with it. Also it's only twelve episodes so it's not like it's a huge drain on my time to watch a handful of episodes. (Plus, Ben Browder! I thought he was gonna be in the first episode, but who knows when he's gonna show up now!)
Elementary. I have no idea when this actually airs on tv, because I'm still getting used to actually having cable tv, but I found it online today. I've tried not to deal with all the significant sexism that people have thrown at it, and tried to not make any opinions about it before I saw it. Now that I've seen the pilot, I can say I thought it was mostly meh. The characters were okay, but a lot of it was focused more on the case than the characterization. (Also I wasn't terribly sure how to interpret a few things because I was somewhat inebriated when I watched it, so I'm not sure what they were going for at times.) I suspect I'll keep watching this show though, because it was interesting enough and mostly I'm just curious with how they're going to handle the H/W relationship than anything else.
Breaking Bad. I think I've just been waiting for the past few weeks for something big to happen. Granted last week with Walter pointlessly murdering Mike was pretty bad, I've just wanted him to actually come close to getting caught. So of course the very end of the episode Hank finally, finally connects Walter to the meth stuff, though unfortunately it's sort of just by coincidence. But I'll take it at this point. Of course the series won't continue for like a year so there's no point really caring too much about it until it starts up again.
